Home on a Hotplate

Dec 7, 2021

If being on the road makes you miss the comfort of a home-cooked meal, GetMed Staffing invites you to treat yourself to the taste of Home On A Hotplate, with recipes that are made to order. We’ve included a recipe for breakfast, lunch/dinner and dessert.

Ham and Cheese Roll Up

Whatever your shift, GetMed recommends this recipe to start your day. Melt butter in a pan. Add an egg and scramble with a fork. In another pan, place tortilla, add the scrambled egg, along with ham pieces and grated cheese. Roll it up and fry until cheese is melted.

Chicken Quesadillas

Tastes good, is good. This GetMed lunchtime pick is perfection. Splash a little olive oil at the bottom of the pan to cook bite-sized chicken, tomatoes and peppers. Pour into a soft tortilla, along with grated cheese and fold. Fold and fry on each side in the pan – then serve when cheese is melted. Great for when you have a guest!

Rice Pudding

Cook 6 tablespoons of rice, in ¾ cup of water, with a dash of salt until water is absorbed. Add 2 cups of milk and ¼ cup of granulated sugar, stirring occasionally, for 15 to 20 minutes. Add ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract after 15-minutes. Once it reaches desired consistency, remove from heat and add cinnamon and raisins if desired. Great warm or cold. GetMed Staffing travelers are pretty ingenious. Some have gotten more than one burner going to make pasta and sauce, soup and grilled sandwiches, and more.
